Heaven

“In the beginning God created the heaven…”

Genesis 1

Let us briefly recap the beginning to understand more clearly the creation of heaven.

In the first verse in the first book of the Bible, creation had not yet begun. It is a statement that presents the fact that in the beginning of time, as we know it, there was God and only God. There was nothing else (if one can imagine that), and there is no better place for a profound statement than in the first verse of the Word of God.

Accurately speaking, there was never a beginning–just a breath, but for the sake of the human mind, which cannot grasp the concept of forever, there has to be a beginning and a point in Time. When that time was cannot be calculated and is beyond human comprehension.

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, says the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

Revelation 1:8

Not many of the creation stories from ancient civilizations around the world start at the very beginning, as does the King James Version of the Bible. Not even the Revised English Bible has the creation account completely correct.
It states, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”
One little ‘s’ a the end of heaven makes a big difference–it changes the entire meaning of the Word of God, and this is where the misinterpretation begins.
Throughout the King James Bible, the third heaven (the heaven of heavens) is always in the singular (with no s). It is truly the heaven of heavens and it was this celestial heaven that was established and populated first.

I knew a man in Christ…(whether in the body…or whether out of the body)…caught up to the third heaven…caught up into paradise…

2 Corinthians 12:2-4

Heaven, heavens

The third heaven, or the heaven of heavens, always was. It is the central sphere of the Light from which all things were created, and that is God.
The Bible refers to it as the throne of God.
“The depth” or “the deep” mentioned in the Bible is the universe; the Bible also refers to this as the sea. It too always was, as it is situated within the central sphere of heaven and is the deepest, darkest and coldest part of God. It is our space.
What was created in these two areas is that which accommodates life and gives it meaning: celestial life in the third heaven and terrestrial life in the second heaven, or the heavens.
The first heaven, like the third heaven, is in the singular, but is easily distinguished from the first heaven by the verse describing it. It is the atmosphere that surrounds our planet and gives us breath, clouds, and rain.

And it came to pass…that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain…

To assist in the understanding of the above concepts I have prepared an illustration.

Now, lets get back to the (celestial) heaven.

For by him were all things created, that are in heaven…visible and invisible…thrones…dominions…principalities…powers…

Colossians 1:16

Heavenly Entities
This region is real, as real as the universe. It is a place. Its principalities and dominions, thrones and powers, are populated with beings that are not made of matter, but rather a force of energy known as spirit.
Spirit is the personality of life, and all life has spirit. On earth we are spirits clothed in matter, and heavenly beings are spirits clothed in light.
These heavenly entities are the LORDS (New Testament–Lords), the archangels, and their angelic hosts of helpers, angels and seraphim. They were created for one purpose only and that is to serve the Light that is God, who has no shape or form, and cannot be seen or heard.

My next post will include an excerpt discussing the LORDS and the other heavenly entities.
